The album was recorded then mixed in just two sessions. Firstly, most of the tracks in the last two weeks of February, then completion in June 2001. Paul and his selected musicians had never played together before, and in fact, hadn't even met !
Reportedly 22 tracks were laid down, but details are unclear at present. If this is proved to be so, then expect a few tracks appearing as B-sides.

Cover design by Norman Hathaway, Micha Weidmann and Donat Raetzo.
The C.D. booklet has 24 pages, with full lyrics (except for "Freedom" which is not mentioned except for a sticker on the front). The rear C.D. cover contains 28 very small black-and-white prints all taken by Paul on his Casio Wrist Camera Watch, seven of which are blown up in the booklet to booklet page size, which makes them very grainy (not a good advert for the watch-camera !). The C.D. itself is probably one of those pictures too, being grey and grainy, but no apparent image present. Like the two singles already taken from it, it is "signed by Paul".

The vinyl rear cover has 35 of those watch camera pictures, no's 26, 29-33 and no.35 are extra (no. 34 being the one that is no. 26 on the C.D.). The vinyl edition is a double album in a single large sleeve housing both records. It does not have a booklet as the lyrics are on the inner sleeves. Record 1 inner sleeve is pink on one side with pictures only appearing on the other side (as seen above), record 2 inner sleeve is red on one side with pictures only appearing on the other side (as seen above).

Recommended Retail Price of the C.D. was £12:99, whereas I paid £18 for the vinyl.

18th November 2001 this album entered the U.K. chart at number 46, in the first week it's total sales in the U.K. were 10,755 ... it dropped out the following week.
I am led to believe that as of 2nd December 2005 Driving Rain had sold just over forty-two thousand copies.
