Comments: This is an essential set, even if you have everything else, for just one track.
The 11 and a half minute Revolution #1 is great to listen to, good fun and reveals the source of one "Love" album sample !

Revolution Take…. Your Knickers Off! on His Master’s Choice was released recently and is the most interesting and significant Beatle release in a long time.
The centre of interest is the newly discovered pristine sounding ”Revolution” which kicks off this collection of Beatles rarities. This is the original take from which “Revolution #1" was edited down from. This full version has appeared on other bootlegs - but with the sound of Yoko Ono talking over the record as it was taken from a monitor mix studio playback.
What we have here though is the entire track in crisp mono without Yoko ruining it.
It is about four and a half minutes of the basic track “Revolution #1" without the horns, piano and fuzzy guitars and whereas the finished track fades out when Lennon begins his “alrights,” the song here continues for another seven minutes with same basic rhythm but various overdubs some of which would later appear in “Revolution #9" including George and Paul adding their ”mama/dada” vocal line.
The tracks ends with Lennon giggling “let’s hear it,” Yoko saying “too much” and George saying “it sounds great.”

The rest of the this collection contains more sessions and alternate mixes that have been out before but once again in significantly improved sound quality.
”Revolution” (single version, no piano) is from the initial session complete with cut-in and no fade out.
“Across The Universe” is an alternate mix of take eight which contains various overdubs, some backwards, that were not used in the released version together with pre-song banter and a full ending.
“Dear Prudence” is an alternate mono mix complete with a post-song comment from Lennon and other extraneous noises from the original master tape.
“Julia” instrumental takes one and two are a collection of Lennon home recordings in much better sound quality than has ever appeared before.

The ending of the first disc is the session where McCartney worked with Cilla Black on “Step Inside Love.” Again, this tape has been issued before but this is in superior sound quality.
The Cilla takes are not takes as such, they are work-in-progress.
Lots of studio chat (George Martin and Paul can clearly be heard), lots of acoustic run throughs and plenty of Cilla trying to work out how she is going to sing "Step Inside Love" and how Paul wants her to sing it.
Nice to hear, but I doubt it will feature on my turntable again soon.

The second disc contains sessions for “Come And Get It” and “No Escaping Your Love.”
It does become repetitive but again, like with everything in this collection, they are in much improved sound quality.

With the extra-ordinary Revolution #1 and the overall incredible sound quality this is easily the most significant Beatles release in years and is essential.

The quality of the presentation of this set is stunning. Thick solid hardback cover contains thick quality card 20 page booklet in book form, with nice artwork, informative script and the two c.d.'s housed in plastic built-in sleeves within each cover.
I've never seen a set of this quality from official sources. Why not ??
