CILLA BLACK

The A-side was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

The first single release for Cilla Black (b.Priscilla White 27th May 1943) and the first of 21 hit singles spanning 30 years.

A song never officially released by The Beatles, it was one of the 15 songs they performed at the Decca Audition of 1st January 1961. It was the first song ever offered to be published by E.M.I.'s publishing arm Ardmore and Beechwood, and was sent on an acetate in April 1962 to George Martin, which led to George Martin meeting Brian Epstein on 9th May 1962.

"Love Of The Loved" was one of the Decca audition recordings left off of all official "Decca" releases due to it being a "Lennon-McCartney" composition.

For those unable to find this Cilla Black single, her version can be located on the excellent album, The Songs Lennon and McCartney Gave Away.
