Comments : This amazing Box Set contains EIGHT C.D.'s, a CD-Rom AND a DVD
The eight C.D.'s contain recording variations, rare mixes and musical oddities from around the world totalling over 10 hours of music and although a bootleg, it is not a bootleg of unreleased outtakes, but almost every track on this collection has been released officially !
A great collection of rarities from the entire Beatles recording career for the completist.
Plus ... the CD-Rom contains all 77 editions of the legendary Beatles Monthly Book fanzine which were published between 1963 and 1969.
And ... a DVD which seems to contain an already prepared title of: "Hard Days and Hard Nights - World Tour Vol.3" and is just 11 seconds short of 2 hours !

The set is limited to 500 numbered copies and also includes a 24 page booklet.

Special Note:
I believe my copy of this box set has the last four c.d.'s labelled incorrectly:
Disc 1 to 4 have a set of tracks all in alphabetical sequence and (I believe) are labelled correctly.
Discs 6 & 5 have a set of tracks that are in alphabetical sequence if the discs 6 & 5 were labelled 5 & 6 and likewise discs 8 & 7 have a set of tracks that would be alphabetical if the discs I have labelled as 7 & 8 were labelled 8 and 7.
I have listed the tracks below in the sequence I believe the discs should be in to show this.

9 Penny Lane U.S. - Reprocessed Stereo for Magical Mystery Tour album 2:59
10 P.S. I Love You Re-processed Stereo
(no true stereo version has ever been released)
2:01
11 Revolution 9 U.S. - Stereo Reel-to-Reel version
Edited down by over a minute and a half
6:38
12 Savoy Truffle Mono
Standard commercially issued mono mix
2:54
13 She Loves You U.S. - Reprocessed Stereo mix for the Red Album 2:17
14 Strawberry Fields Forever Germany - Stereo mix for Magical Mystery Tour album
The first fade-out is a complete one, plus more interestingly ...
John's "Cranberry sauce" is heard twice on this German stereo mix.
Believed to be the first true stereo mix of this track, now found on all cd issues.
(Also see the write-up in the U.S. mix on disc 4)
4:04
15 Swanee River Stereo
What's this doing here ? ... no Beatles involved in this track !
2:53
16 Thank You Girl Mono (made from stereo) for US "Second Album"
With harmonica riff towards the middle and at the end.
2:02
17 The End Stereo
Actually this is Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End and Her Majesty as
heard on World Records mail order "Beatles Box".
This edit only had five seconds pause between the tracks
5:36
18 Think For Yourself U.S. - Reprocessed Stereo mix
From U.S. "Rubber Soul", also used on U.S. "Best Of George Harrison"
2:16
19 This Boy U.S. - Reprocessed Stereo for Love Songs
Capitol made a reprocessed stereo version for "Meet The Beatles" in 1964.
From that mix they then made this different mix ! ... even though a true stereo version was available !!
2:12
20 Tomorrow Never Knows Mono Matrix #1 2:57
21 Twist And Shout Stereo remix for Rock 'n' Roll Music (1976) 2:33
22 While My Guitar Gently Weeps Mono
Most of George's vocal sounds heard at the end of the stereo mix are missing
on this, the standard commercially issued mono mix
4:47
23 Why Don't We Do It In The Road   U.S. - Stereo Reel-to-Reel version
Bizarrely this short track was also edited down for reel-to-reel ... by 32 seconds !
1:09
24 Yellow Submarine Mono (UK version made from stereo)
A different mono version !
In the original mono version John's acoustic guitar comes in right on the first beat of the song, in stereo the guitar doesn't appear until after Ringo sings the word "town". That mono version was used on all original singles and the film soundtrack.
Except, UK pressings were made from the stereo master, combining the two channels.
2:37
25 Yer Blues U.S. - Stereo Reel-to-Reel version
An extreme edit ! ... from the first verse this version goes straight to the instrumental break, then fades out
2:30
26 Yes It Is U.S. - Reprocessed Stereo for Love Songs
Capitol had already produced a reprocessed mix for "Beatles VI".
From that mix they produced another reprocessed mix for "Love Songs".
2:39
27 You're Gonna Lose That Girl Stereo film edit
This version was used in the first video issue of Help with the sound of an engineer and a count-in intro
2:23

C.D. 8

Note: although I have this labelled as disc 8, I believe this was supposed to be labelled as disc 7, so I show it in the 7th position ....

No Tracklisting Comments Time
1 A Hard Day's Night Mono ... or stereo. This is an odd mix.
This was remixed from the UK mono by United Artists for the "stereo" issue of A Hard Day's Night.
It is mono, but shifts to the left for Paul's solo vocal bridge beginning "When I'm home ..." then towards the right for the instrumental break.
2:27
2 The Long Medley Stereo
This was the initial line-up for the second side of Abbey Road with Her Majesty in the middle of the suite.
11:06
3 Ain't She Sweet Re-channelled stereo
As there was no proper stereo version, Atlantic in the U.S. made this Rechannelled mix from edited mono.
To compare them, the stereo mix is missing some drum overdubs heard on the mono mix.
2:08
4 And You're Bird Can Sing Simulated stereo
Mock stereo used on the first "Butcher cover" Yesterday And Today album in the U.S.
2:00
5 Baby You're A Rich Man Mono
The mono version has a slightly longer fade-out and the later issue of the
U.S. single has the end of the word "eleven" spoken just before the song starts.
3:04
6 Boys Stereo
1976 remix by George Martin for "Rock And Roll Music"
2:21
7 Can't Buy Me Love Mono ... or stereo. This is an odd mix.
Remixed from the UK mono by United Artists, it is almost entirely mono except
it bounces to the right, then left at the vocal lines.
2:11
8 Can't Buy Me Love Take 2
A mono version of this was included on Anthology 2, but,
it was take 2 with the guitar solo from take 1 edited in plus added reverb.
2:11
9 Dizzy Miss Lizzie Stereo
This 1965 stereo mix is now no longer available.
From the 1987 cd release the track has added reverb to the vocal.
2:52
10 Don't Bother Me Stereo
This track is from the Canadian release of Meet The Beatles in 1976.
It includes a vocal error by George near the end of the song.
George sings an extra "don't" out of place after "when she's come home, until that day ..."
2:25
11 Doctor Robert Rechannelled stereo
Mock stereo used on the first "Butcher cover" Yesterday And Today album in the U.S.
2:13
12 Drive My Car Stereo
Original standard issue stereo mix.
In this original version a cowbell is heard during each verse except the last line, between the lines of the refrain, in the instrumental break and in the fadeout.
On the 1987 cd version, the vocal is moved to the right centre and the cowbell and the guitar track far right, also the cowbell is heard throughout the refrain.
One can probably conclude the cowbell was ever present on the original track, but was faded
during vocal lines during the original stereo mix.
2:27
13 Every Little Thing Stereo
Standard originally issued stereo mix
2:02
14 Fool On The Hill Stereo
1993 remix created for the video used to promote the 1967-1970 c.d.
2:55
15 From Me To You Stereo
John Barrett 1982 stereo remix that recreates the sound of the
original mono mix by re-instating the harmonica over the intro.
1:55
16 Hello Goodbye Stereo
1993 remix created for the video used to promote the 1967-1970 c.d.
3:30
17 Help ! Stereo
1993 remix created for the video used to promote the 1967-1970 c.d.
2:18
18 Helter Skelter Stereo
1995 single edit remix used for Anthology.
3:45
19 Hey Jude Radio promo
Capitol in the U.S. sent a promo copy of Hey Jude to radio stations which was edited
to fade just after the start of the sing-a-long (American DJ's not able to manage this on their own !?)
This shortened version is sourced from very noisy vinyl.
3:30
20 I Feel Fine U.S. Capitol Records mono mix 2:19
21 I Saw Her Standing There Stereo
1976 remix by George Martin for "Rock And Roll Music".
The left and right channels are reversed and are brought slightly more central.
2:51
22 I Want To Hold Your Hand Stereo
Mock stereo made from the UK mono for the 1964 Capitol release of "Meet The Beatles".
The vocals are centrally placed in the mix.
2:23
23 I Want To Hold Your Hand Stereo
Mock stereo made from the UK mono for the 1973 Capitol release of "1962-1966".
The vocals are centrally placed in the mix.
2:23
24 If I Fell Mono ... or stereo. This is an odd mix.
Remixed from the UK mono for the stereo issue of A Hard Day's Night.
As per the standard mono release, John's opening vocal solo is single-tracked.
Then it is mono except the intro is toward the left and the rest is centred.
2:17
25 Take Some Insurance On Me Baby   Rechannelled stereo mix from edited mono.
Atlantic records created this clean mix in the U.S. by editing out the words "God damned"
2:50
26 I'll Cry Instead Stereo
This is the "short version" - the long version runs 22 seconds longer and has an additional verse edited in.
1:45
27 I'll Get You Mono
This mono remix was made for the US Capitol issue of the "Second Album"
2:04

C.D. 7

Note: although I have this labelled as disc 7, I believe this was supposed to be labelled as disc 8, so I show it in the 8th position ....

No Tracklisting Comments Time
1 I'm Only Sleeping Rechannelled stereo
Mock stereo created from the mono remix of "Yesterday And Today" with less backwards guitar.
My timings show backwards guitar at these times into the song: 1:23 and the solo 1:34-1:45
2:59
2 In My Life Stereo
Original standard stereo mix.
The newer c.d. mix differs in many ways.
The lead vocals are mixed far right, but the new version has heavy reverb added and mixed centre,
a breath is heard before the vocal starts in the original and the drum is louder.
A plink in the decay of the guitar, left, at the end of the song is not heard on the newer mix.
2:23
3 It's Only Love Stereo
Standard original stereo mix.
The double-track on the first chorus has a slight gap.
On new c.d. issues this has been "fixed" by splicing in from the second chorus.
1:54
4 I've Just Seen A Face Mono
A voice can be heard in the decay at the end of the mono version, but not on the stereo.
UK and US mono mix are from the same source, but in the US Capitol added an unusual amount of echo.
2:03
5 Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand   UK Stereo mix
The UK stereo mix differs to the US version which has someone talking in one channel before the song begins. This has been almost edited out of the UK mix, but is still detectable.
2:21
6 Lady Madonna Stereo
Anthology video remix
The instrumentation is mixed to the centre - the original version has piano and vocals to the left and the rest to the right.
2:14
7 Little Child Stereo
Additional vocals can be heard at the end of this track on this original stereo UK issue.
1:44
8 Long Tall Sally Mono
Standard original UK mono mix.
The vocals are mixed lower than in the stereo version and has less reverb.
The U.S. mono mix on the "Second Album" is another completely different mix.
2:00
9 Long Tall Sally Stereo
U.S. 1964 stereo mix has the vocals over to the right, newer c.d. versions have vocals centered.
2:02
10 Love Me Do Mono
The master tape of this recording with Ringo drumming was lost in 1962.
This 1980 vinyl transfer was from a slightly noisy used 45 and was used on US Rarities.
In 1982 a better vinyl copy was made available to EMI from a collector and that version is used on cd releases.
2:21
11 Love You To RM 1,2,3, Edit - 16th May 1966
Standard commercially issued mono mix
3:05
12 Misery Mono
Sources insist that there is a difference between the UK and US mono mixes.
This is the US mono mix.
1:46
13 Mr. Moonlight Stereo
From the US Capitol release "Beatles '65".
A slightly longer fade than the mono version.
2:37
14 Nobody's Child Rechannelled stereo
Atlantic records put this out in North america on ATCO, but before mastering the disc they edited the track down by almost a minute !
2:51
15 Nowhere Man Stereo
Standard commercially issued stereo mix
Vocal and instrumentation is placed differently in the mix in later cd issues.
The original stereo mix has all sound either far left or far right.
The 1987 cd mix has all instruments left centre, only the lead guitar as far left and
the guitar moves to the far right for the solo in both versions.
John's lead vocal is at right centre and his second vocal with the others at far right in the new issue.
2:42
16 Penny Lane Brazilian mono mix
Has the phrase "In summer" cut out for reasons unknown.
Also this is one of the worst editing or pressing jobs ever on a Beatles record.
2:54
17 Penny Lane Stereo
Anthology video remix has the bell centred, also the piano and flute-like instruments are mixed to the forefront while the ascending trumpet line after the phrase "It's a clean machine" is missing.
2:58
18 Penny Lane Mono
Promo version with 7-note trumpet ending.
This is a newly transferred better quality example, allegedly
2:57
19 Please Please Me Stereo - WITH mistake in lyrics
In the final verse John sings "I know I never even try girl" instead of
"I know you never even try girl" ... and then chuckles briefly in the following chorus.
Remixed by Capitol in 1965 for "The Early Beatles"
1:58
20 Roll Over Beethoven Stereo
1976 remix by George Martin for the "Rock 'n' Roll Music" album.
2:42
21 Run For Your Life Stereo
Standard original stereo mix.
There is a thump during the instrumental break (probably someone hit a microphone),
that has been removed for the newer c.d. issues.
2:20
22 She's A Woman U.S. Mono
While the UK mono has no echo on the vocal, this US mix has slight echo on everything.
It also has less apparent piano.
3:00
23 She Loves You Rechannelled stereo
1966 Mock stereo version used for "A Collection Of Oldies"
2:19
24 Sweet Georgia Brown Rechannelled stereo
U.S. stereo version made from the edited mono version.
2:01
25 Tell Me Why Stereo
This is the mono version though as it has John's brief solo vocal lines single-tracked
2:06
26 Thank You Girl Stereo
1982 John Barrett remix that duplicates the mono original
(eg. without the harmonica towards the middle and at the end) but without the echo
2:01
27 There's A Place Stereo
1980 U.S. remix for their Rarities album.
1:48
28 Ticket To Ride Stereo
1993 remix created for the video used to promote the cd issue of 1962-1966
3:03
29 Ticket To Ride Rechannelled stereo
Mock stereo made from the UK mono mix for the 1965 film soundtrack of Help
3:03
30 Twist And Shout Stereo
1986 remix made for the film (or promotion of) Ferris Bueller's Day Off
This has the left instrumental track relatively louder.
2:33
31 You Can't Do That Stereo
1964 Canadian stereo mix that seems to have no bass on the right, unlike the common stereo mix.
(more likely to be a mastering error than an alternate mix)
2:32
