Comments:
(from the release notes)
This amazing strictly limited edition box set is a collection of material spanning the peak years of the Rolling Stones from 1961 to 1974.
It collects almost eight hours of the choicest rarities, unissued songs, rehearsals, demos, instrumentals, alternate mixes, outtakes and more from the band's earliest known recordings through to the final session Mick Taylor played on.

Featuring 144 performances in the best existing quality this is the definitive collection detailing the first 13 years of the Rolling Stones.

In the early 1950's Keith Richards and Mick Jagger were classmates at Wentworth Primary school in Dartford, Kent. They met again in 1960 while Keith was attending Sidcup Art College. In autumn 1961 with mutual friend Dick Taylor (later of the Pretty Things) and Jagger's friends Allen Etherington and Bob Beckwith they formed the band Little Boy Blue and the Blue Boys. This five-piece made some home recordings during that winter and for songs from those sessions are issued here for the first time, providing the earliest known existing recordings by any future Stone.

From those early sounds this set moves chronologically through the history of the Stones with quite meticulous sleeve notes in a very glossy 16 page booklet with each two disc set. The three two-disc sets are housed in a cardboard open-ended box, which also contains four free postcards and an "invite" to the Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus - which actually identifies the limited edition number of each box (mine says 557 of 1000).
This is a lovely well-produced set.
