Detail : A soundtrack double album of the film, which was premiered in the U.K. on 25th October 1988.
The premiere took place at the Canon Cinema, Haymarket, London with Yoko, Sean and Cynthia all in attendance.
The film went on general release three days later.

The film had originally been finished at just over two hours long, but was deemed too long and had 22 minutes cut for the final print.

Being the story of John Lennon, the soundtrack of the film contains songs recorded by The Beatles,
and therefore what we get here is a fine collection of songs from all of John's career.

ALL THE SONGS CONTAINED HEREIN ARE FEATURED IN "IMAGINE: JOHN LENNON"
HOWEVER FOR TECHNICAL REASONS AND IN ORDER TO PROVIDE COMPLETE VERSIONS,
SOME OF THE PERFORMANCES DIFFER FROM THOSE USED IN THE MOTION PICTURE

The front cover contains a self-portrait of John, with the rear having a early Beatle shot of John taken by Astrid Kirchherr.
Inside the gatefold are some nice pictures of John, with the lyrics to "Imagine".
The inner sleeves are thick card, with little more than a track listing on.

The C.D. which was released simultaneously, also has an international number of CDP 7 90803 2.
