Sir Paul and companion, Heather Mills jetted out to New York on Concorde last week for some work, rest and play.
While in the Big Apple, the legendary Beatle welcomed new entrants into the Songwriters Hall of Fame at a star-studded dinner. The 31st annual awards honoured six new inductees: soulman James Brown, Eagles duo Glenn Frey and Don Henley, singer-songwriter James Taylor, the late Curtis Mayfield and Beach Boys frontman Brian Wilson.
The evening's musical performances concluded with an energetic and impromptu jam session between Godfather of Soul James Brown and an exuberant McCartney.
Away from the limelight, the New York trip also gave Sir Paul a chance to lay down some tracks for his new solo album. But it wasn't all work for Paul, he and Heather managed to take some time out to trawl the boutiques of trendy Madison Avenue and pick up some top name designer gear.
