Detail : | Ringo Starr's twelfth official studio album, 18th release overall, third album release for Mercury, and first Christmas L.P.
by a Beatle. Credited to Ringo Starr Produced by Mark Hudson and Ringo Starr
Recorded at WHATINTHEWHATHE? studios, Westlake studios and the Village Recorders L.A., The Boneyard in Boston,
A mix of Christmas classics and some new originals, Ringo and Mark Hudson composed Dear Santa and Christmas Eve
in the summer of 1998 at Ringo's Surrey residence. No idea why they should be writing a Christmas song in July !?
The C.D. "booklet" is once again, not a booklet as such, but is one sheet 14" x 9 1/2" which is folded vertically down the
centre and then three times length wise making it C.D. cover sized. One side contains all the lyrics, whilst the other has
the dedications.
Ringo left Mercury after this release as he felt they had done little or no promotion for the album and consequently it was
not a commercial success. But then again, chart success had eluded Ringo on some very well received recent albums anyway.
The album was re-released 23rd September 2003 as:
