Original Sleeve Notes - 1970
"Badfinger" are four - Tom playing bass and Joey playing guitar, both from Liverpool, Pete on lead guitar with Mike on drums both of them born in Swansea, South Wales.
"Badfinger" are very close to each other, living together, their life is playing together. On this album featuring the three numbers they recorded for "The Magic Christian" film soundtrack, they offer you themselves and their music, so listen as I have done, enjoy it - and feel close to "Badfinger".
                                                                           Mal.

Cover originally designed by David King ©1970

In February 1991 the album was digitally remastered from the original two-track stereo master mix tapes and eight-track master session tapes by Ron Furmanek, and engineered by Mike Jarratt at Abbey Road Studios.
This re-issue also has an 8-page colour booklet with some very detailed and lengthy sleeve notes written by Steve Kolanjian.
The 1991 c.d. has a catalogue number of CDSAPCOR 12 (CDP 7 97579 2).

C.D. Liner Notes - 1991
Badfinger were a unique act for Apple records. They were also there from the start and remained popular throughout the life of the label. They were also one of only two non-Beatle acts on Apple to receive a Gold record - for "Day After Day" (the other was Mary Hopkin's "Those Were The Days")
Badfinger began as The Iveys (named after The Hollies) and after demo tapes were played to Mal Evans, Derek Taylor, Paul and George, The Iveys were signed to Apple Corps.
After the release of two singles and one album their name was changed to Badfinger, from the working title of "With A Little Help From My Friends" which was "Badfinger Boogie".
Paul McCartney helped the group get a fresh start by giving them a new song he had written for Ringo's new movie, "The Magic Christian", called "Come And Get It" and managed to get two other Badfinger tunes in the film as well.
"Come And Get It" was issued in December 1969 and rose to No.4 in the top ten. The Badfinger album "Magic Christian Music" arrived a month later. As well as the soundtrack songs and a few new ones, it repeated half the tracks from The Iveys album.
As Ron Griffiths had chosen to leave the band at this time and Joey Molland wasn't quite esconsed yet, many promotional pictures of the band at the time just showed three faces.
Of the tracks from The Iveys album, "Fisherman" is a different version.
The bonus tracks are the previously unissued "Arthur", plus an Iveys song - "Storm In a Teacup" - which was from the promotional "Walls Ice Cream" E.P. and appears here in stereo for the first time.
Note: "Angelique" and "Give It A Try" were dropped from the American version of "Magic Christian Music" as 12 tracks were the norm in the U.S.
The liner notes also include a full Iveys/Badfinger discography, which includes details of the actual Magic Christian soundtrack L.P. released on Pye.
