The fifth release for Billy J. Kramer, and fifth top ten hit (his fourth "Little Children" was NOT a Lennon-McCartney composition). This song was originally written for Peter and Gordon.

The A-side was recorded in 20 takes on 29th May 1964 at Abbey Road with George Martin producing. Present in the studio at this session was John AND this time Paul too. In fact it is reported that the last note sung is actually Paul, as Billy could not reach it. Careful listening certainly does reveal that an extra voice does take over !

"From A Window" is one of 20 songs that can be found on the essential E.M.I. album, The Songs Lennon and McCartney Gave Away.
