THE FOURMOST

Another opening hit for an Epstein artist written by The Beatles, as with their first L.P. release Please Please Me, note that the composer credits are "McCartney-Lennon", this changed to "Lennon-McCartney" on the next Fourmost release.

The Fourmost were :

Brian O'Hara - Vocals/Lead guitar (born 12th March 1942, Liverpool - died 27th June 1999)
Mike Millward - Vocals/Rhythm guitar (born 9th May 1942, Bromborough - died March 1966)
Billy Hatton - Bass guitar (born 9th June 1941, Liverpool)
Dave Lovelady - Drums (born 16th October 1942, Liverpool)

"Hello Little Girl" was recorded at Abbey Road on 3rd July 1963, and produced by George Martin. The Beatles were present at the sessions.
On 17th July 1963 Gerry and the Pacemakers also recorded a version of this song at Abbey Road, but nobody was happy with Gerry's version, and it was The Fourmost's that was selected for issue. Gerry's remained unreleased until 1991 !

This song was recorded by The Beatles at their decca audition of 1st January 1962. Although it has often been bootlegged it didn't officially appear until 1995 on Anthology 1.

"Hello Little Girl" is one of 20 songs that can be found on the essential E.M.I. album, The Songs Lennon and McCartney Gave Away.
